A Brief Introduction
Hello! I'm Skylar Werner, a hardworking, ambitious, energetic individual seeking jobs in the marketing industry. I graduated from Stevenson University in May 2022 with a Bachelor of Science in Fashion Merchandising with minor(s) in Marketing, Fashion Design, and Entrepreneurship.
I was the social media marketing intern at Baltimore Magazine in Spring 2022, and this experience sparked my love for marketing, but especially social media. I helped the marketing manager curate social posts on a variety of platforms, attended events and posted social content, and helped re-vamp the user-generated content of the brand. I have also interned at Altar'd State Corporate in Knoxville, TN as a buying intern. This experience improved my Excel skillset, time-management skills, and knowledge in the fashion industry. I have also worked as a brand representative for Altar'd State for 3 years.
During my undergraduate education I was the President of the Fashion Apparel and Design Club and a Captain on the Women's Club Soccer Team both for 3 years. I was very involved on campus and was a tour guide as well as a Senior Orientation Leader. Below you will find samples of my work from internships, jobs, and coursework. Enjoy!

Attended Baltimore Magazine events for the digital marketing team. Created Instagram Reels to engage with followers that couldn't attend the event. I also captured photos of the event, vendors, and couples.
Created content for Secret Chef on Baltimore Magazine's Instagram story. Highlighted the amazing courses, secret chef reveal, and the venue. Using the correct fonts, color schemes, and verbiage was important to uphold their brand identity.

Trending Graphics
Created graphic tee mood boards using Canva for the buying team to predict trends for Spring/Summer 2022. The themes are trending graphics, band tees, & vintage beach club. The buyers were able to take inspiration from these and the graphic designs were sent to the vendors to develop into product.
Completed an intern project for Altar'd State comparing the brand to Aritzia. I researched Aritzia's social media and marketing strategy to see what tactics they utilized for effective marketing.
Analyzing Aritzia's social media posts and how they connect with their target customer through more than just fashion. This picture is a visual of a carousel they posted to advertise their Super Puff Jacket. They use elements such as whip cream and cake to depict a soft texture, coffee for color, and the columns to represent the structure of the jacket.
Emphasis on Aritzia's influencer campaign success and how influencers can be beneficial to a brand. Additionally, researched ways Altar'd State could introduce influencers in their campaigns to better connect with their customer.
Created an updated blog layout for the Altar'd State website. The layout was recommended for a sleek look that would be more on-brand with what the target customer is currently looking for in branded blog posts. The layout also recommended larger images, more straight-forward subtitles, and blog themes such as 'AS on You' to show real customers wearing the clothes. The marketing team loved the layout and recreated it for the website. My mock-up and the website layouts are shown above.

Created a fashion website on Weebly and utilized Google Analytics, website enhancing platforms, and acquisition techniques to attract viewers to the website. Search engine optimization was crucial as one of our main goals was to acquire new users. Conversion through email newsletters were important and landing pages were also created to convert customers. Lastly, used retention techniques utilizing e-mail marketing to keep customers coming back to the website. I created social platforms to market the website and learned the techniques to engage customers and lead them to the blog by social media. I also obtained my Google Analytics Certification through this course.
